It’s Monday, guys…who else is excited? Over the weekend I developed a bit of a sore throat and woke up extra snotty this morning. I’m normally snotty all the time, but today, extra snotty. If you don’t get that, I won’t explain it. But, I’m convinced the cure for a cold is an amazing smoothie. Also, it’s cold so it makes my throat feel better. Sort of like the pint of ice cream I ate yesterday.
I post these regularly on instagram and someone always comments and says “post the recipe!” and I thought I should. The measurements are all very, very exact so you better do it right or everything is going to go to hell in a handbasket. Got it?
Tropical Blueberry Smoothie (yes, I named it)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
6-7 pieces of pineapple
4 second pour of coconut water
4 second pour of coconut milk (from the can, people)
blend in blender until combined. I use the liquify function because I don’t like to mess around. You can add any fruits that you like, I just really love pineapple and blueberries. Also, when I’m feeling crazy, I throw in some shredded coconut and it’s heaven. I’m sure you could add rum too, if you were in the mood to party.
Sounds super yummy!! I forgot my banana on my kitchen counter this morning so I’ll probably make this for breakfast tomorrow!! Woohoo!! =)
Feel better!! =)
swap the banana for a mango and i’ll be in heaven. dare i say i’m actually excited for tomorrow AM?
Obsessed with bfast smoothies! Just made one with coffee, almond milk and banana! mmm.
I made this but it was watery. You really should specify the angle you pour the liquid at. (said in annoying commenter type voice)
Smoothies might be the cure to everything lol. Hope you feel better soon 🙂
I’m in love with smoothies…they kind of DO cure everything, right? Even bad moods, I’m convinced.

Yum. I need to invest in a blender stat.
This looks amazing! I’m always on the hunt for a good blueberry based smoothie and I definitely want to try this. Feel better!
Yum! This looks so good. Love that it’s dairy free.
Smoothies for breakfast are the best. I’m a workout in the morning gal so I usually add a little protein powder to whatever smoothie I whip up and it’s heaven. 🙂
I’m in the mood to party with that smoothie!

Pineapple is basically magic. Love this, and even though I’ve been having tons of smoothies lately, I haven’t been using coconut water/milk as the base. What, what, what am I doing?
(if that last sentence seems bizarre, please google “Sassy Gay friend” immediately. Your day will become fantastic).
I started using coconut milk as my smoothie base. I used to do fresh organic apple juice, which I think makes it taste 100 times better, but to cut back on the sugars (even though they are natural sugars) I switched to Coconut water. It took some getting used to but now I don’t even notice the difference.
This sounds (and looks) delicious!!
Oh my gosh that looks wonderful. Great way to start the week!
Nom nom nom. And it turns such a pretty color!
deee-lish. Hope your throat feels better. xx
Great recipe ! I’ve never tried putting coconut milk or water in my smoothies. I actually make tons of these before classes in the morning and my sports games. I’d love to trade recipes ! 🙂
oxo.
If I do a 5 or 6 second pour, do you think the world will implode? 😉 thanks for sharing!
I make almost the exact same one every morning! The coconut milk from the can is really the secret. It makes it creamy like yogurt would without the tartness.
this smoothie sounds amazing. perfect too add to my morning routine! & so simple!
xo
I’ve been trying to start my mornings with a green kale/spinach/banana/bluberry smoothie, and I notice a huge difference in how I feel throughout the day when I do have one vs. how I feel when I don’t. Smoothies and juicing are changing the world, I swear it!
I’m in! Mainly because you used the word coconut…more than once…
But blueberries and bananas sound nice, too.
Hope you feel better soon!

This sounds like the perfect Monday Morning jump start! Question – what brand of coconut water do you use? I have only tried one kind and wasnt a huge fan…looking for more suggestions!
Thanks!
